A $14,000 donation from the Citizens Building & Loan Charitable Foundation was presented to support Greer STEP – Shelter to Empower People.

STEP is a four-unit homeless rehabilitation shelter located next to the Greer Soup Kitchen on E. Poinsett Street. Construction is complete on the $500,000 complex and occupancy is tentatively scheduled May 1.

“We are pleased to make this donation in support of Daily Bread Ministries’ newest program, Greer STEP, which provides support, shelter and hope to those who are homeless and want to improve their life situations,” said Brent Garrett, Senior Vice President of Citizens Building and Loan.

The CBL Charitable Foundation was formed in 1999 by its board of directors to support local non-profit and charitable entities in the Greer area. To date, the Foundation has donated $899,390 to charitable organizations.
