After conducting a full search, the resource officer also discovered two firearms located inside the vehicle. The student was detained by the SRO and administrators, and local law enforcement was notified.
There was no threat made to Byrnes High School, nor any students, at any point during this incident.
The investigation has been turned over to local law enforcement, and any charges against
the student involved are pending.
District Five officials notified all parents at Byrnes High School about the incident.
