Six people have been arrested in connection with a homicide that Greenville County Sheriff’s Office investigators believe occurred on or about Dec. 1.
A man approached deputies at the Law Enforcement Center, on Monday, Dec. 16, and provided information that a body might have been buried on the property of 3946 Cripple Creek Road in Greer.
An investigation ensued and the body of an adult-aged male, suffering from multiple stab-like wounds was discovered Monday afternoon. Later that evening investigators made the first arrest in the case when they charged Kurt Russell Knutson, 38, with accessory after the fact.
Investigators discovered five additional suspects involved in the murder and by late Wednesday evening had made all of those arrests.
David Jeffery Stokes, 39, one of the six arrested, resides at the same address where the body was discovered. Stokes was charged with murder and kidnapping.
Investigators learned that the victim was brutally murdered from an attack that investigators believe started inside of a mobile home, at 212 C and S drive, on or about Dec. 1. Audrea Jones Cook, 33, also arrested, resides at that address, according to warrants.
The victim was then seized and transported about a couple of miles away to the property of 3946 Cripple Creek Road, where he was placed in a shallow grave, according to arrest warrants.
Investigators have not determined where the victim was actually killed.

Investigators have learned that the victim and at least one of the suspects were familiar with each other. All of the arrested suspects remain in the Greenville County Detention Center on no bond.
