Tippin's homecoming is a rousing success

Aaron Tippin acknowledges the big crowd that filled two-thirds of Greer City Park's front lawn. The crowd stretched from the stage all the way back to city park's entrance on Cannon and Poinsett streets.

Aaron Tippin made a rockin' return to his hometown of Greer tonight performing at the Village Hospital Greer Family Fest.  An energetic crowd, estimated at 6,500 by public safety officers, gave Tippin a rousing welcome.

Tippin performed his hits and shared the stories behind each song. He frequently waved to his friends and acquaintances in the crowd, often calling them by name.

Tippin's support of military gaining momentum for Family Fest

Active-duty airmen and South Carolina Air National Guard airmen with the 169th Fighter Wing prepare to deploy to Afghanistan on Thursday from McEntire Joint National Guard Base in Richland County.

Aaron Tippin has long been an advocate for the United States military armed services.  This past week the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce announced a "Walk of Honor" for all veterans and active duty personnel.

GreerToday.com, media sponsor for the Family Fest, will present a daily photo in honor of all military personnel, active and veterans. The Department of Defense is providing the photography from all over the world where the U.S. military has a presence. Today's photo was taken at McEntire Joint National Guard Base in South Carolina.
