An onsite auction at ACME General Store will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. Furnishings, fixtures and remaining merchandise will be sold.

The auction follows one week the owners Chris and Denise VandenBerghe announcing the store’s closing with a going out of business sale. Some fixtures and furnishings were being removed last Thursday, hours after an email was sent about the store’s closing.

The store, at the corner of Victoria and Trade Street, will close as soon as the merchandise is sold. Employees were removing kitchen equipment and racks today as crowds of shoppers filled the store to purchase reduced goods.

These are the auction guidelines:

Preview of merchandise is Wednesday 5-6 p.m.

• Items and lots of product offered to highest bidder.

• No markup percentage. Credit card payments incur 5 percent convenience charge.

• Purchase paid in full on day of sale.

• Purchases must be removed from the building no later than 2 p.m. Friday.
