The demolition of the Allen Bennett Hospital campus continues with plans to have the entire campus razed by early January.

The NEO Corporation was approved for the demolition and removal of the structure not to exceed $790,000. NEO also razed the Exide campus.

The 10-acre property will be cleared of its 220,000 square feet of buildings, which include the hospital and the Roger Huntington Nursing Home. The hospital will not be imploded.

A market study concluded clearing the site would make the land more competitive for bids for a multi-purpose, retail and residential, campus.
