Arrowood, Roberson give Greer solid footing in future of kicking game

Nick Roberson made 6 of 10 field goal attempts and was 64 for 66 on extra points. He was the third highest scorer for Greer with 82 points.

Quez Nesbitt set a season-high record for most yards rushed – 2,544 – at Greer High School. He averaged 10.46 yards per carry and scored 30 touchdowns.

Malek Johnson, a safety, had 7 interceptions and scored one touchdown.

The kicking game at Greer High School appears to be promising the next two years. Sophomores Jake Arrowood and Nick Roberson were named to the second team all-area Spartanburg Herald-Journal team.

Quez Nesbitt was first team all-area at running back and Malek Johnson first-team all-defense. Offensive linemen Roland Nall and Garrett Poole made the all-academic team.

Roberson made 6 of 10 field goals (longest 37) and connected on 64 of 66 extra points. His 82 points only trailed Nesbitt and Emmanuel Kelly.

Arrowood punted 38 times for a 38.7 yards average with the longest of 60 yards. He had 10 kicks downed inside the 20.

Nesbitt’s senior season included an all-time school best 2,544 yards rushing on 243 carries for a remarkable 10.46 yards per carry. He scored 30 touchdowns. Nesbitt also had 22 receptions for 315 yards and two TDS.

Johnson had seven interceptions and returned one for a touchdown.

Nesbitt and Johnson played in the North-South All-Star game.

Nall, a senior, had a 4.357 grade point average and Poole, a junior, had a 4.368.
