The Greer High School football team had its annual awards ceremony Monday at the high school auditorium.

Guest speaker Reese Hannon played quarterback for the Greer Yellow Jackets and is a two-year starter for Furman Univeristy.

"There is no place like Greer," Hannon told the players.

Hannon said he proudly says he is from Greer, not Greenville, when asked his hometown. The traditions and community's support of the players, not just the team, is memorable.

Hannon said he anxiously awaits hearing Greer's score on Friday night.
