The Bacon Brothers will headline the BMW Charity Pro-Am tournament’s celebrity concert

Actor Kevin Bacon and award-winning composer for film and television Michael Bacon will perform Friday, May 16, on the outdoor stage at the Peace Center.

“We’re thrilled to host Kevin and Michael in Greenville and give our sponsors and special guests an exciting and entertaining show. We know The Bacon Brothers will deliver a memorable performance,” said Darin MacDonald, executive director of South Carolina Charities, Inc. “And like prior years, other tournament celebrities will be certain to join in and wow concert attendees with their own performances. It’ll be a great night.”

Limited ticket packages, at $250 each, include food provided by Larkin’s on the River and beverages.

Long before Kevin and Michael launched their careers in the entertainment industry, they were just two brothers, born nine years apart, coming of age in Philadelphia. By the late 1960s, Michael, already a professional musician, would perform with his band at the city’s famed Electric Factory with a young Kevin tagging along when he could. Those early days of playing music together parlayed into a 19-year music career for the brothers. They have released six albums.

Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Kevin Bacon stars in the FOX psychological thriller “The Following.” His film credits include Oliver Stone's “JFK,” “Footloose,” “A Few Good Men”, and “The River Wild.”

Michael Bacon won an Emmy for his score for “The Kennedys,” an Ace Award nomination for his score “The Man Who Loved Sharks,” and The BMI Television Music Award and The Chicago International Film Festival Gold Plaque Award for music in “LBJ.” Michael Bacon's recent projects include the theme for “Bill Moyer’s Journal,” “African American Lives (1 and 2)” and “Oprah’s Roots” by Kuhnhart Productions.

The BMW Pro-Am is May 15-18 at Thornblade Club, The Reserve at Lake Keowee and, new this year Green Valley Country Club.

The 2014 celebrity list will be announced on April 8.
