Blue Ridge faces must-win game versus Broome

This is what the umpire saw when making the call on a play at first base in the Seneca-Blue Ride baseball game Monday night.

Broome plays at Blue Ridge at 6:30 this evening in an elimination baseball playoff game.

Blue Ridge is 1-1, losing to Seneca on Monday night. Broome is also 1-1 with its loss to Seneca, 7-5.

The winner of tonight’s game advances to play at Seneca Friday for the District II baseball championship. Seneca will have to loss twice to be eliminated Friday.

The winner of the District advances to the Upper State championships beginning Monday with the championship scheduled May 16.

The best-of-three state championship begins May 19.
