Blue Ridge High School selected by Wal-Mart for Adopt A School Program
Wal-Mart in Greer presented Blue Ridge High School teachers with 20 $50 gift cards and 10 totes filled with school supplies. The manager, Dana Hill, awarded the items. In August, Wal-Mart also provided faculty/staff with a “Back-to-School” breakfast.
Blue Ridge High School Corps of Cadets Place 1st
The Blue Ridge High School Corps of Cadets placed 1st at the 2013 AAA Upper State Championships and made the playoffs for the 19th year in a row.
Tigers of the Month
Each month the Blue Ridge High School faculty nominates and selects two students for "Tiger of the Month" based on personal conduct, work ethic, demonstrated academic achievement or improvement, and citizenship. The Tigers for October are Haley Horne (11th grade) and John Keisel (10th Grade).
Commended Student in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program
Blue Ridge’s Emily T. Gullette has placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2014 competition by taking the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
"Students named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," according to a spokesperson for National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSC).
A Letter of Commendation from BRHS and NMSC was presented to Emily by BRHS principal Reena Watson and Assistant Principal Brent Odom.
