Cabela's schedules opening week of special events

Cabela’s will celebrate the grand opening of its Greenville store with a weekend-long celebration featuring special guests, giveaways and family events.

Cabela’s will celebrate the grand opening of its Greenville store – the company’s first South Carolina location – with a weekend-long celebration featuring special guests, giveaways and family events.

Crowd entertainment, including a DJ and trivia games, will kick off opening day at 8 a.m. Thursday, April 3. A grand opening ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m. with a unique ribbon-cutting ceremony – the ribbon will be cut by an arrow shot from a bow.

Special events include:

• John McLemore, Masterbuilt President & CEO – noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 3

• R. Lee Ermey, “The Gunny” – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5

• Benny Spies, Cabela’s Ambassador & host of Gun It with Benny Spies – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6

• Tim Andrus, Realtree Pro Staffer – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6

• Terry & Matt Drury, Drury Outdoors – 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 5 and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 6

• Steve Scruggs, “Snake Master” – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 6

• Michael Waddell, Co-Host of Bone Collector – 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6

• Hank Parker, two-time Bassmaster Classic champion – 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 6.

Cabela’s also will offer giveaways throughout the weekend.

• Friday, the first 50 customers through the door will receive a Cabela’s utility bag valued at $14.99.

• Saturday, the first 50 will receive a Cabela’s cap valued at $14.99.

• Sunday, the first 50 will receive a Cabela’s gift card valued between $5 and $100.

A variety of family activities will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting, including archery and fishing lessons and demonstrations.

Cabela’s is located in Magnolia Park, at the junction of Interstates 385 and 85 on Woodruff Road.
