Casillas, Jacquette win individual honors in forensic competition

Josh Casillas of Greer and Lauren Jacquette of Taylors earned individual honors for the Bob Jones Academy Forensic team in a competition in Charlotte earlier this month among 600 students.

Jacquette was 5-0 in preliminaries and a semifinalist in the Lincoln Douglas Debate.

Casillas and Andrew Clater (Easley) were octafinalists (top 16) in the Lincoln Douglas Debate.

Emma Pait and Hevont Panosian, both from Greenville, were quarterfinalists.

Jonathan Savoy of Greer earned a second-place finish for the BJA varsity in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate last weekend at the Hillcrest High School Invitational with a 3-1 record. BJA came in fourth overall.

2nd, Lauren Jacquette of Taylors, Novice, 4-0.

3rd, Lindsie Gray of Taylors, Children’s Literature, 3-1.

3rd, Andrew Clater of Easley, Novice, 4-0.

5th, Anne Nguyen of Taylors, Novice, 3-1.

5th, Emma Pait of Greenville, Original Oratory, 3-1.

6th, Daniel Quigley of Fountain Inn, Novice, 3-1.
