Greer is hosting a culinary event never held before in downtown. It’s Foodie Events night, 5-8 p.m., as part of Tuesdays on Trade weekly promotion. More appropriately it’s Teacher Appreciation Night.

Visitors and teachers will be treated to a variety of skills of chefs from downtown Greer with the big finale a culinary competition – formatted like the food network’s “Chopped”.

Between 6 – 8 p.m. the culinary event will feature:

• Knife Skills 101: Chef Todd will exhibit slicing, dicing and chopping between the Shoppes at the Grapevine and Rhythm and Brews.

• Make-Your-Own-Pizza:  Chef Jordan will demonstrate tossing dough and preparing pizza at the Chamber of Commerce.

• Home Brewing 101: Chef Jon questions on draft more at ACME General Store.

• Wines: Sue Ellen, a wine sommelier, will present a lesson on wine evaluating and tasting – blindfolded. Beside ACME.

• Cupcakes for all occasions: Next to Stomping Grounds.

• Build-your-own shish kabobs: Beside Rivera's.

• Chopped: An event with local culinary students competing for prizes and awards beside ACME.
