Deadline is noon Thursday to file for three Greer city council seats and one for Commission of Public Works.

Incumbent Lee Dumas filed for re-election for Greer City Council with the filing deadline at noon Thursday for candidates to be included on the Nov. 5 municipal general election ballot.

There is at least one candidate, all incumbents, for each city council position. Wayne Griffin (District 2), Dumas (District 4) and Judy Albert (District 6) are seeking re-election.

No opposition has filed to contest the three council members. If filing closes without any opponents for their seats, a two-week period will allow for candidates to file as a write-in. If that deadline passes without any filings, the council members without opposition will be declared winners by the municipal election board and be sworn in after the general election.

Incumbent Gene Gibson and Tom Kriese have filed for the at-large Commissioner of Public Works Race.

Contact Municipal Clerk Tammy Duncan between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Greer City Hall or at 801-2027.
