Earth Hour observed to emphasize environmental challenges

The annual World Wildlife Federation Earth Hour will be observed at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23 in the greater Greer area. The campaign is to raise awareness of the environmental challenges such as climate change, according to the WWF.
Businesses, government entities and residents are asked to turn off all non-essential lights in and around buildings.
