Interim Chancellor of the University of South Carolina Upstate Mary Anne Fitzpatrick has received an award for her book, “Between Husbands and Wives”.
The Distinguished Book Award is given by the Family Communication Division of NCA to recognize outstanding scholarly books that contribute to the field of family communication.
“Between Husbands and Wives” provides a detailed description of Fitzpatrick’s body of research on marital communication. Fitzpatrick’s work on couple types, and the patterns of communication and outcomes associated with those types, constitutes one of the most extensive and generative research programs in the field. It has deepened the understanding of the ways couples interact.
