GSP Airport in Greer will see an increase of traffic with football fans traveling to Phoenix for Monday's National Championship football game.

Greer will see added travelers coming through its highways this weekend, Saturday through Tuesday, as football fans will be making their way to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.

Clemson University’s football team travels to Phoenix to play Alabama on Monday for the national championship. Clemson’s players, coaches and staff charter flights from GSP.

Chartered flights and passengers filling seats to make connecting airlines will effect travel and parking at GSP.

GSP has offered reminders 3-2-1:

• 3 hours before departure, check in at the ticket counter,

• 2 hours before departure, get in line at the TSA Security checkpoint,

• 1 hour before departure, be at your gate.

Travelers can save time by checking-in and paying for checked luggage online when possible. Or skip the ticket counters by carrying on luggage and using a mobile boarding pass.

The least expensive parking options, including the Economy lot and the Sky lots, tend to fill up first. Passengers may guarantee parking by visiting gspairport.com and clicking on the Reserved Parking tab.
