Valida Foster Walker has joined Sherman College of Chiropractic senior director of institutional advancement and public relations.

 

Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, named Valida Foster Walker as senior director of institutional advancement and public relations.

With more than 13 years of experience creating and supporting solutions for leading nonprofit, corporate, media and educational organizations, Foster Walker is highly skilled in multi-level project management, marketing communications, major gifts development, public relations, coaching and delivering high-impact presentations. 

Sherman College is one of 18 chiropractic colleges in the United States and the only one in the Carolinas. The college has undertaken efforts to double its capacity for educating doctors of chiropractic to meet the healthcare needs.

“We are excited to have Valida join our division and the Sherman College family,” said Ohmar T. Land, Sherman’s assistant vice president for institutional advancement and public relations. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and important relationships with her from the greater Spartanburg and Upstate community. Her talent and leadership will support the growth of the college and its mission.”

A native of Lyman, Foster Walker is a graduate of James F. Byrnes High School and Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Science in integrated marketing communication and a minor in business administration. She served as a relationship manager for leadership giving at the United Way of Greenville County and as campaign director at the United Way of the Piedmont, serving Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union counties.

She has been involved with social and civic organizations, including the City of Spartanburg’s Mayor Disability Board, the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce’s Diversity Committee, Uptown Sertoma of Spartanburg, the Board of Directors of Spartanburg Habitat for Humanity, the UNCF Upstate Board and the Greenville Drive’s Diversity Committee among others.
