GCM contracts HR consultant for new executive director
Greer Community Ministries (GCM) has hired a human resource management group for a search for an executive director to replace Craig Dittmar who has left the non-profit agency.

Lori Sondov, as Operations Coordinator, is handling the day-to-day operations. Sondov would not comment since an announcement has not been announced about her interim responsibilities. However a brochure for GCM's golf tournament was mailed last week with Sondov's new position.

Jim Boyd, chairman of the GCM board, said an announcement is forthcoming to describe the process and timeline.

Allen Smith, a vice-chair of the board, said the search by the management group “is to get the candidates in front of the board so we can begin the interview process.”

Smith said he was unsure of the timetable. “It’s better to make a sound decision instead of a hasty decision,” Smith said.

Dittmar spent two years at GCM, hired following Randy Kemp’s resignation to return to Sealed Air.

Dittmar’s December newsletter said Big Thursday “will likely come up over $10,000 short of what we projected. Reserves were needed for the first time in several years” for repairs and replacement of equipment.

GCM was founded in December 1972.

CORRECTION:

Randy Kemp, former GCM Executive Director resigned to return to Sealed Air.
