Quarterback Josh Gentry listens as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jay Abercrombie talks with the team after a series of plays against J.L. Mann's defense.
The scrimmage was originally scheduled for Thursday evening but a powerful storm that dumped nearly an inch of rain and fallen tree limbs that resulted in downed power lines hit Greer.
Gentry, the likely starting quarterback when the season opens Aug. 24, led Greer to three scores during a controlled scrimmage. Chapman’s two touchdowns during the goal line scrimmage was aided by tackle Alex Waters clearing the way on the right side with dominating kickout blocks.
Greer plays Mauldin at 7 p.m. Saturday at J.L. Mann.
