Josh Gentry had a good day at quarterback and Brook Chapman was unstoppable on the goal line drills today as Greer and J.L. Mann scrimmaged each other at Dooley Field.

The scrimmage was originally scheduled for Thursday evening but a powerful storm that dumped nearly an inch of rain and fallen tree limbs that resulted in downed power lines hit Greer.

Gentry, the likely starting quarterback when the season opens Aug. 24, led Greer to three scores during a controlled scrimmage. Chapman’s two touchdowns during the goal line scrimmage was aided by tackle Alex Waters clearing the way on the right side with dominating kickout blocks.

Greer plays Mauldin at 7 p.m. Saturday at J.L. Mann.
