Going up! Gas prices jump 11 cents a gallon

Gas prices have bounced upward again, about 11 cents in just over a week. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel in Greenville County is $3.17 today. The Hot Spot at Poinsett and Line streets is selling gas at $3.08 for a gallon of regular unleaded, up nine cents from a week ago.

Prices in Greer generally average a few cents less than other convenience stores in the Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson metropolitan area, according to AAA's Fuel Gauge Report. The state average is 5 cents higher at $3.22. That compares to the national average of $3.44.
