Greer Police Department’s K9 Boss and Stryker have received a bullet and stab protective vest. Officer Jordan Williams is partnered with Boss and Officer James Compton with Stryker.

The vests were donated through non-profit Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. They were sponsored by Yan and Karon Ratke of Spartanburg and are embroidered with the sentiment “Provided by the Ratke’s & local area businesses”.

The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $1,050. Each vest has a value between $1,795 – $2,234, and a five-year warranty and an average weight of 4-5 pounds.

Boss and Stryker are German Shepherds from the Czech Republic.
