Greer boys lose in first round of playoffs

The Greer boys basketball team was bounced from the Class 3A state playoffs in the first round tonight, 69-49, at Fort Mill. It was a battle of  No. 2 seed Fort Mill vs. No. 3 seed Greer.

The difference in the game proved to be Fort Mill's 26-7 fourth quarter scoring advantage. Greer managed three field goals.

LaBrian Shiflet, held to his lowest scoring game of the season, and Dre Terry scored 14 points each for Greer.

Greer ends its season 13-12 and Fort Mill, 17-7, advances to play at No. 1 seed Eastside.

Fort Mill  16   20     7    26   –  69

Fort Mill: Jon Brown 17, Devan Thacker 16, Riley McGillan 14, Daequon Antoine 12, Kevin Woods 2, Mike Scurlock 2, John Paris 2, Rylan Wells 2, Matt Ferguson 2.

3-point goals (5): Jon Brown 3, Riley McGillian 2.
