Hurricane Joaquin is causing havoc with high schools trying to outmaneuver the “very dangerous” Category 4 storm to readjust football schedules Thursday and Friday.

Emerald at Blue Ridge has been moved up one night. The field at Blue Ridge does not hold water from heavy rains well. Heavy rains several years ago forced the team to move games to opponents’ sites.

Blue Ridge joins other schools trying to get ahead of the storm.

Greer and Eastside, both unbeaten, play at Dooley Field at 6 o’clock Friday.
