Greer High School’s track and field is getting an overhaul.

A new rubberized track and pole vault, triple jump and long jump pits are being constructed at the high school’s track. The vaults and jumps are new and the track is a replacement.

The additional updates will allow the school to host dual meets but regional meets will need spectator seating to qualify to host more schools participating.

Baseline Sports Construction of Knoxville, Tenn., is the contractor hired by the Greenville County School District to update all 14 high school track and field venues. Baseline Sports, from Knoxville, Tenn., is upgrading the sites at $110,000 each.

Wade Hampton, Eastside and Riverside high school eight-lane tracks were installed with polyresin surfaces in 2014.

Mauldin and Southside tracks were improved this summer and J.L. Mann and Berea had their facilities updated last year.
