The Greer girls home soccer game versus Union County Thursday night at Dooley Field is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start. The boys team will play at 6 p.m. with Senior Night for both teams held between games.

The girls game is the marquee contest of the evening with the Region III-3A championship at stake. The game time was changed this morning.

A win by the Greer girls clinches the region championship for coach Ron DePaol’s team. The boys (8-2 overall and 6-0 region) clinched the school’s first region soccer championship last week.

“This is a good situation for the school to have two teams in position to win the region championships. A sweep would be great,” said Greer girls coach Ron DePaol. The Greer girls are 8-8 overall.

Greer’s girls beat Union County in an earlier region game.
