Greer High's Massey candidate for teacher of the year

Greenville County winner to be announced in August

Adam Massey, a business teacher at Greer High School, is a candidate for the 2013-2014 Greenville County Teacher of the Year. Massey was presented a grant by the Greater Greer Education Foundation in 2012 for his Virtual Enterprise program, winners of 3 straight state championships.

Adam Massey, a business teacher at Greer High School, is a candidate for the 2013-2014 Greenville County Teacher of the Year. Massey was presented a grant by the Greater Greer Education Foundation in 2012 for his Virtual Enterprise program, winners of 3 straight state championships.

Adam Massey, a business teacher at Greer High School and teacher of the nationally acclaimed Virtual Enterprise Program, has been named a finalist for the 2013-2014 Greenville County Teacher of the Year.

Massey, a teacher for 6 years, has directed his VE Business Plan team to three consecutive state championships and fourth time overall. Greer is the winningest school in the history of South Carolina Virtual Enterprise.  The team will compete in the national tournament in New York City.

Massey earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina and his master's of education from the University of Georgia.

Massey and the finalists will participate in classroom observations and interviews by members of the selection committee.

Angie Cooley, music teacher at Mitchell Road Elementary

Anne Kelsey-Zibert, seventh grade social studies teacher at Northwest Middle

Libba Mattison, science teacher at J. L. Mann High Academy

Clint Nalley, seventh grade science teacher at Bryson Middle

Alyson Nelson, anatomy and biology teacher at Mauldin High

Kim Phillips, special education teacher at Bethel Elementary

Tom Rogers, science and math teacher at Southside High Academy

Mandy Waters, first grade teacher at Westcliffe Elementary

Jan Woodward, dance teacher at The Fine Arts Center
