The Greer Yellow Jackets baseball team plays a Class 3A second round baseball game tonight and the girls and boys soccer teams are scheduled to complete its final region games tonight at Dooley Field.

The boys soccer game against Union County, resumes at 5:30 tonight and it will be the third day it will try to be completed. Greer and Union were tied 1-1 with 25 minutes left in the second half Thursday night when lightning and thunder stopped the game. The boys played three minutes Friday night when the same weather pattern halted the game at the 22:32 mark.

The girls game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start. Senior Night, twice postponed, will be held between tonight’s games.

Greer’s soccer teams have wrapped up the Region III-3A championships. That’s the first time either team won a region title and the sweep gives second-year boys coach Jorge Santos his first championship and first-year girls coach Rob DePaol a title.

Greer’s girls are scheduled to wrap up their regular season Thursday with a game at Carolina High School at 5:30 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets baseball team travel to Union County for a 7:30 game tonight. A win moves Greer into a Wednesday game at a site to be determined.  If Greer loses tonight it will play a home game Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Greer’s baseball team whipped Chester 17-3 in a first round game that started Thursday and finished Saturday. Rain forced the game to be halted twice.
