The foundation is supported from 100 percent participation among the bank’s employees and received more than $40,000, beyond its 30-day goal, in contributions and commitments.
“With the contributions and efforts from our entire Greer State Bank team, we are off to a great start and look forward to positively impacting our community in 2015 and beyond,” Christy Blackwell, president and chairman of the foundation, said.
The bank’s decision for forming the foundation was partly in response to the desire of keeping the company’s contributions in the communities where the employees live and work.
April Staggs, of the bank, introduced the foundation to the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce’s First Friday luncheon audience last week. The bank is co-sponsor of the monthly event.
