Greer Station Café is tentatively scheduled to open Nov. 1, according to Wendy Mitchell owner of the restaurant, formerly Southern Thymes.

Mitchell told GreerToday.com she decided the name change to brand it with the central business district marketed as Greer Station.

“I think it’s appropriate and it gives us a new start in this building,” Mitchell said.

Hours will be 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily except Wednesdays when it will be closed.

Mitchell has been upfitting the Café at 219 Trade Street since announcing last month the repurchase of the building. “We’ve painted, we’re putting in a new ceiling and updating and cleaning the kitchen and dining room and polishing the floors,” Mitchell said.

The menu will be what Mitchell served customers throughout the years before selling. “I’m going to serve breakfast and lunch just like before,” Mitchell said.
