GSP averaging $15 less per ticket than Atlanta, Charlotte

Passengers flying out of Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) in Greer pay an average $15 less than the average domestic fare from competing airports (Atlanta and Charlotte) in the region, according to the US Department of Transportation’s third quarter 2014 airfare report.

The US Department of Transportation ranks the top 100 airports based on average domestic fare.

In the third quarter of 2014, the average domestic fare out of GSP was 3.59 percent lower ($15.22) than Charlotte and 3.55 percent lower ($15.08) than Atlanta. In the same report, GSP was credited with a 0.7 percent increase in average fare over 2013 and a 34.2 percent drop since 2000.
