Heavy rain causes roads, parks closings in greater Greer
Suber Road at Sweetbriar Road is blocked due to flooding, the Greer Police Department has announced. Police said roads in Greer have some water buildup and advises drivers to be cautious.

Greer Commission of Public Works is monitoring the dam at Lake Cunningham. If rain continues at its current pace, 1-2 inches in the next 12 hours, CPW may release some of the excess water that flows into the Startex, Jackson, Wellford and Duncan water district.

Due to flooding in the city of Greenville a section has closed a section of the Swamp Rabbit Trail under the McDaniel Avenue Bridge, the Greenville Zoo and Cleveland Park until further notice.

A flash flood warning has been issued for areas in Greer, Taylors, Berea, Simpsonville, Five Forks and downtown Greenville. Streams in the area are rising rapidly, according to the Weather Service and continued heavy rain will cause ponding in areas, streets and underpasses.

Heavy rain, 1 – 2 inches have fallen, with 1-2 inches expected in pockets in the Upstate.

Streams including those along the Reedy River, South and Middle Tyger Rivers, Enoree Rivers and other tributaries can be expected to rise rapidly.
