Gas prices continue to crawl lower although they won't come anywhere near the cost for a gallon of unleaded gas this time last year.

The aveerage price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $3.08 in Greenville County this morning. That compares to last Thanksgiving's $2.64 price, or 44 cents higher.

The average Greenville County price, according to AAA Fuel Gauge Report, shows a seven cents decline in the past week and a 14 cents decline in the past month.

Those planning to take out of town trips may want to consider filling up at Grand Foodstuff at 2851 Hwy. 101 N. and Millford Church Road with gas reportedly at $2.99 for regular unleaded. Gas is $3.02 at Murphy USA at 14065 E. Wade Hampton Blvd and Hampton Road and also at Palms at 13195 E. Wade Hampton Blvd and Verne Smith Parkway.

The national average price for regular unleaded is 32 cents higher ($3.34) than Greenville County. The highest price in the state is $3.17 per gallon in Charleston County.
