Greer Development Corporation
Katie Howell has been hired as director of marketing and research at the Greer Development Center.
Howell served as senior coordinator of marketing and events for JAXUSA Partnership, the economic development arm of the Jacksonville, Florida Chamber of Commerce, serving the seven county region of Northeast Florida.
She is a graduate of Florida State University.
“We are excited to welcome Katie to GDC and the Greer community,” GDC Executive Director Reno Deaton stated. “The continued success of Greer and our economic development program depend upon our ability to find new and better ways to share our story with a diverse audience of decision makers in the Upstate and beyond.
“It’s not just that good things are happening in Greer. It’s that the good things that are happening in Greer are providing opportunities for this community to grow in ways never before imagined,” stated Deaton. “We must make sure that every site selection consultant, real estate professional, targeted industry, and economic development partner knows about the new opportunities that exist in Greer and the passion we have to make sure that their project is successful.”
Howell will be challenged to develop innovative marketing campaigns that support GDC’s broad economic development goals that include business retention, industrial, retail, office recruiting, and new product development.
“I am thrilled to join the GDC team,” stated Howell in GDC’s announcement. “Their innovative ideas and commitment to the City of Greer is what attracted me to the company.
Howell starts her new position on Sept. 5.
