Ice on Main opens in downtown Greenville

Published on Friday, November 23, 2012

The city of Greenville opened its 3,200 square feet of ice today, Greenville Technical College Ice on Main.

“We want ice skating downtown to be a holiday tradition for all Greenville families. If you didn’t join us last year, this is the perfect time to start that tradition," said David Sudduth, mayor pro tem.

The ice is next to Greenville City Hall on the Village Green at Main at Broad and runs through Jan. 21. This year’s additions include clear dasher boards for better visibility and more holiday decorations.

Visitors can bring their own skates, rent a pair on-site. Admission is $10 per adult and $8 per child (12 and under).

“Greenville Technical College is excited about the opportunity to partner with Ice on Main this year,” said Dr. Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College. “We’re especially pleased that Greenville Technical College Ice on Main will not only benefit the community by serving as a wonderful holiday destination for families, but will also impact housing and hunger through Greenville Tech Gives Back.”
