The South Carolina Inland Port in Greer will extend the reach of the SCPA’s marine facilities more than 200 miles to the interior in the heart of the Southeast region’s fastest-growing area – the I-85 corridor.
Linked to the Port of Charleston by a Norfolk Southern main rail line, the South Carolina Inland Port will improve the efficiency of international freight movements between the port and companies across the Southeast region while spurring additional economic investment in the area.
The project uniquely involves the convergence of four modes of transportation at one site, with the port, rail, truck and the nearby GSP International Airport all handling international commerce for the region’s shippers.
