The Greer Inland Port handled 7,303 rail moves in July, reported the South Carolina Ports Authority. With 56,875 rail moves calendar year to date, the facility's volumes remain on track to reach 100,000 moves in 2016.

The SCPA has allocated $2.2 million to expand the Inland Port at Greer in fiscal year 2017 and 2018.

The expansion would grow the existing 36-acre port to 70 of the site’s 100 acres.

The SCPA reported 2016 fiscal year-end operating earnings of $39 million, revenues of $211 million and operating expenses of $172 million.
