It's all about the 'D' for Greer boys in win over Union County

Greer dominated Union County in a boys basketball game Tuesday night winning by its widest margin of the season and hold all scorers under double figure scoring.

Greer beat Union County, 61-25, moving the Yellow Jackets one game above .500 in the Region II standings, 4-3. Greer is 10-13 overall and has one remaining game, at Blue Ridge Thursday night to complete regular season region play.

The Greer defense was impenetrable in the first three quarters hold Union County to quarter scores of five, six, and six while building a 44-17 lead. All the Yellow Jackets played with only Magic Moody still sidelined.

Andy Bryson (18), Sam Gravley (13) and Ryan Balardin (10) led Greer in scoring. Other Greer players scoring points were Noah Hannon (5), Kyle Moore (4), McZavion Holley (3), Bryce Durrah (2), Delmar Moore (2), Chris Davis (2) and Ryan Pearson (2). Magic Moody did not play.

Remarkably, Greer held Union County’s scorers under 10 points with only AC Curetin and Morgan Foster managing seven points each.

Union County fell to 5-17 overall and 2-5 in the region.
