Construction has begun on a 297,600-square-foot building in Velocity Park that will become the first of three buildings on the property on Victor Hill Road in Greer.
Cullum Interests, a Greer-based industrial developer led by Allen Cullum, is partnering with Childress Klein, one of the Southeast’s largest commercial and real estate firms.
The facility is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2018.
Cullum is the managing general partner of Velocity Park, a 193-acre industrial park.
Cullum, who has owns the land, said, ”I am very pleased to be working with my friends with Childress Klein to develop another Class A industrial facility in Velocity Park in the wonderful community of Greer.”
The building, being constructed by Myers and Chapman features:
• concrete tilt-wall construction, 32-foot clear height
• ESFR sprinkler system
• 52-feet x 50-feet deep column spacing
• 60-foot loading bay and ample trailer parking behind the building.
“We are excited to partner with Cullum Interests, on this project,” said Chris Daly, Industrial Partner at Childress Klein. “Velocity Park is in an ideal location with the ability to provide a variety of solutions for logistics or manufacturing companies of many sizes.”
Cullum has been significant in building industrial facilities that have been quickly filled with tenants needing logistics in the Upstate. Other landmark sites by Cullum are:
• 240,020 square-foot venture, the largest speculative building in Greer, at 545 Brookshire Road, completed in 2016.
• Minghua’s Jiangnan Mold Plastic Technology Corp., the first China manufacturing plant in Greer, is investing $45 million and creating 150 jobs at a 260,000 square-foot facility on Robinson Road.
Velocity Park is a 193-acre industrial park located 1.5-miles from the I-85 and Highway 101 interchange. It’s less than a mile from the BMW North American Manufacturing facility and two miles from the Greer Inland Port. The inland port is virtually adjacent to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.
