The arrest stems from an investigation that began on April 1 after the GCSO received information concerning the potential mistreatment of animals under Meredith's care.
During the course of the investigation, multiple dogs living in deplorable conditions were discovered at Meredith’s residence, located at 4 Lazydays Court. The discovery of 25 dogs, some malnourished, living in several crates covered in feces led to Meredith being charged with 25 counts of Ill-treatment to Animals.
Meredith remains in custody with the McDuffie County Sheriff’s office, awaiting extradition.
This investigation is ongoing as deputies work to identify additional suspects and incident locations.
