The Upstate Mini-Market has been launched at the Stomping Grounds.

JP Wersinger, co-owner of Suburban ShareCrop, and part-time employee at the coffee shop, brought fresh vegetables to the store last year and customers downtown were among his subscribers.

Wersinger and partner, Chad Manaton, said they are servicing “consumers interested in purchasing local and farm fresh products.” The partners started a small farm on Brushy Creek Road in Taylors last year.

There is an upright cooler and a table with crates of fresh tomatoes and honey. Produce includes kale, Swiss chard and tomatoes from Carolina Aquaponics, Carolina gold rice from Anson Mills, hot sauces from Blue Moon, chocolate from Night Owl and honey from Horsecreek Apiaries & Honey Farms. Eggs and milk are also offered.

The market is, “a way of making local convenient,” Wersinger said.
