TAYLORS – The Riverside Warriors closed their season Friday night with a win against the Generals at Wade Hampton High School, 35-28.
With just over two and a half minutes left in the game, Riverside quarterback Logan DiBenedetto sailed a pass from the Generals’ 16-yard line to Robert Morrow in the corner of the end zone for his fourth touchdown. Antoine Kahaleh’s point after touchdown made him perfect for the game, five for five.
That proved to be Riverside’s winning score.
Wade Hampton had its chance to tie the game but Charlie Wright intercepted Josh Edwards’ pass near midfield with 37 seconds left. DeBenedetto took a knee and the clock ticked zero on the class of 2017’s regular season.
Jarvion Norman scored three TDs for Wade Hampton. Two of Norman’s touchdowns were scored in the fourth quarter that tied the game at 28-28.
The DiBenedetto to Morrow pass and PAT gave Riverside its winning points.
