Nehemiah Corp. opens office Thursday

Nehemiah Community Revitalization Corporation opens its new offices at 2 p.m. Thursday at Suite C at 111 South Main Street.

Nehemiah is a faith-based non-profit corporation in the business of affordable housing development and neighborhood revitalization.  The helps provide housing for special needs groups such as senior citizens, persons with mental illness, and similar groups. 

During the past 10 years, Nehemiah has partnered with churches to help revitalize neighborhoods such as the historic African American neighborhood of Sterling in Greenville.  Since its founding in 1993, Nehemiah has been responsible for the construction or rehabilitation of over 1,400 housing units in the state. 

Nehemiah acted as lead developer of Snow Street Place, a 48-unit senior complex constructed on land leased from Greer.
