Rolland Nall (75) will once again block for Quez Nesbitt as teammates on the North All-Star squad.

Quez Nesbitt, the most prolific ballcarrier in Greer High School history, and Rolland Nall, who has opened some of the holes on the offensive line, have been named to the 66th annual North-South All-Star roster.

Byrnes’ Shuler Bentley, quarterback, and Tyreik Lyles, defensive back, were also named to the North team.

Nesbitt and Nall, nominated by Greer Head Coach Will Young, are among the 44-player roster for the North team. The North plays the South on Saturday, Dec. 14 at noon at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium at North Myrtle Beach.

Nesbitt has more than 4,300 yards in his career. He sat out last week’s game after sustaining an injury in practice. He is probable as a starter Friday night at Blue Ridge. Nesbitt is averaging 220 yards rushing per game this season and recorded a career-high 344-yards two weeks ago in a win over Pickens that gave the Yellow Jackets the conference lead.

Nall, 6-foot-4 255 pounds, is quite a contrast to Nesbitt who is listed at 5-7, 150 pounds.

Greer (6-0, Region II-3A) plays at Blue Ridge (5-1 region, 5-2) Friday and can claim the region championship outright with a win. A tiebreaker will be used if Blue Ridge wins.

Nesbitt and Nall will report to Myrtle Beach on Dec. 8 for twice-daily practices.

South Carolina’s Mr. Football will be recognized at halftime of the game.

Advance game tickets are $15 purchased here. Tickets will be $20 at the gate on game day.

David Gutshall (Dorman) is the head coach. Assistants are Jerry Jackson (C.a. Johnson), Phil Magdic (Greenville), Michael Mayer (Indian Land), Scott McLeod (Chapin), John Moreland (York) and Tommy Bobo (Dorman).

Will Young was an assistant coach for the North squad last year.
