Chelsea Bailey, of North Greenville University, was awarded the $2,500 Bob Dobbs Essay Scholarship at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention & Exposition in Nashville, Tenn.
Bailey was among several NGU mass communication students to be awarded iNRB Student Awards.
• Justin Robinson from Taylors won second place in Short Film with “Create”
• Bailey from McAdenville, N.C., Jonathan Derbyshire from Arden, N.C., and Josh Weir from Marietta won second place honors in Longer Film with “Allegiance”.
• Anna Moseley, Travelers Rest, won third place in the News and Sports Radio category with her segment titled “NGU Basketball”.
“Chelsea's award was the first time an NGU student won this contest,” said Dr. Linwood Hagin, NGU Mass Communication Department chair and professor.
The essay scholarship contest, sponsored by KMA Direct Communications on behalf of its late Senior Vice President of Media Relations Bob Dobbs, is open to all full-time undergraduate iNRB student communications/journalism members with a GPA of at least 3.0 grade point average.
