North Carolina wins Shrine Bowl, 54-39

Dorian Lindsay of Greer High School had one catch for 34 yards, the longest for South Carolina, in the Shrine Bowl.

North Carolina defeated South Carolina Saturday 54-39 in the 79th Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas at Wofford’s Gibbs Stadium. The 93 total points scored broke the previous high of 80 points in 2000.

Austin Kendall (Oklahoma commit) threw for a pair of touchdowns and ran for another to lead North Carolina. He completed 13 of 16 passes for 190 yards and was named the Offensive MVP for North Carolina.

Cornell Powell (Clemson commit) returned a kickoff 98 yards and had a 27-yard touchdown catch for North Carolina.

Collin Hill (Colorado State commit) from Dorman was the offensive MVP for South Carolina He completed 15 of 28 passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns. Two of his TD throws went to Chavis Dawkins of Byrnes High.

Dorian Lindsay from Greer High School caught one pass or 34 yards, the longest for South Carolina.
