Barbara N. Hendrix, 72, wife of Gary W. Hendrix, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2023.

Barbara was born in Blount County, Alabama in 1950, raised in Greer S.C., and was the oldest daughter of the late William and Bonnie Smith.

She was a lifetime caregiver and retired teacher of 35 years in County having taught at Woodland Elementary for 25 years and Dunbar Child Development for 10 years.

She was of the Baptist Faith and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Surviving:

Surviving is her husband of 45 years, Gary W. Hendrix of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dionna and Kip Walker of Atlanta, Ga., and Lindsey and Sam Howell of Greer, S.C.; five grandchildren, Ava Walker, Bella Walker, Paige Howell, Sadie Howell, and Hudson Howell; three sisters, Belinda Rumsey of Greer, S.C., Bonita West (Jim) of Greer, S.C., and Bafhonia "Bee Bee" Brown (Robin) of Woodruff, S.C.; two brothers, Butch Smith and Bobby Smith both of Greer, S.C.; nieces and nephews, Brandy Lark (Dale), Melissa Hawkins, Dasha Painter (Joey), Candace Lemons (Christopher), Stuart McConnell (Della), Kaci Isbell (Jason), and Barrett Brown (Brittnee); great-nieces and nephews, Dillon Turner, Madison Hawkins, Xavier Paddie, Jackson Painter, Emma Jo Painter, Miller Lemons, Karson Lemons, Mason McConnell, Emberm McConnell, Ella Isbell, Gunner Isbell, Barron Brown, and Banx Brown, and Tylan Turner.

Funeral Services:

Graveside services will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Hillcrest Memory Gardens conducted by Pastor Danny Garrett.
