Betty Harvey Waters Vaden, 85, of Pickens, SC, died January 18, 2014 at her home.

A Greer, SC native, she was a daughter of the late Boyce Lee Harvey, Sr. and Lillian Lister Harvey. Betty was predeceased by her first husband, James Harold (Hodge) Waters and her second husband, William L. (Bill) Vaden.

She was a retired employee of Greenville Memorial Hospital, a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and she will be remembered as the original owner of The Fork Restaurant in Greer.

Surviving:

Survivors include her four children, Cynthia W. Barrera of Atlanta, Tony Waters (Kay) of Greer, Cathy W. Sanders (John) of Pickens and Susan W. Dillard (Franky) of Greer; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by a brother, Boyce Lee "Billy" Harvey, Jr. and a sister, Jean Harvey Smith.

Funeral Services:

A memorial service will be held at The Wood Mortuary Chapel in Greer on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 3:30 p.m., officiated by Rev. Bryan Hester, Rev. Jim Frost and family tributes.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the mortuary. Private burial will follow the funeral service.

The family is at the home of the son, Tony Waters.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family extends a special thank you to Interim Healthcare Hospice, Vardrey Williams and Angela Young for the excellent care they gave during her illness.
