William Glenn "Bill" Lawson, Sr. of Campobello, known to hundreds as Papa Lawson, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 11, 2017, where he joined his precious wife of 68 years, Gladys Mitchell Lawson.

He was born January 13, 1925 to the late Albert Dewey Lawson and Iva Mae Griffin Lawson.

He was a current member of Ingleside Baptist Church and a member of Motlow Creek Baptist Church for 45 years.

Surviving:

Surviving are three sons, William G. "Bill" Lawson, Jr. (Betty Jo), Albert Lee Lawson (Joyce) and Kenneth Ray Lawson (Debbie) all of Campobello; three daughters, Barbara Jean Burch (Douglas), Sandra Elaine Wilson (Troy) all of Campobello and Polly Ann Mann (Scoot) of Greer; three sisters, Frances L. Dickinson of California, Martha L. Morrow (Jimmy) of Inman and Joyce L. Alexander of Sylva; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Lawson was predeceased by two brothers, Albert E. Lawson and James E. Lawson, two sisters, Mildred L. Williams and Sarah Rebecca Lawson, and one granddaughter, Tanya Denise Lawson.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Motlow Creek Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Shane Ezell, Dr. Tommy Turner and Rev. Terry Rainey.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Lawson, Christopher Lawson, Mitchell Lawson, Hunter Jordan, Heath Jordan, Houston Burch, Dallas Norris and Cale Medley.

Visitation will be held 1:00-2:45 p.m. Saturday at the church.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Sandra Wilson, 2285 Motlow Creek Road, Campobello, SC 29322.
